Ali attended the book launch of Chernobyl Heart. From RTE.ie:

"Last night at a book launch to mark the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, campaigner Adi Roche warned world governments not to resort to nuclear energy if oil supplies begin to dwindle.

In 2004 'Chernobyl Heart', a film based on the work of Chernobyl Children's Project International (CCPI), won an Academy Award in the Best Documentary Short Subject category.

The documentary prominently featured CCPI International Executive Director Roche, who was subsequently inspired to write 'Chernobyl Heart - Twenty Years On'.

Roche's book documents the terrible physical, emotional and psychological trauma the tragedy caused.

Detailing the struggles of the early days, there are two stories in 'Chernobyl Heart - Twenty Years On': that of Roche's personal battle to win the hearts and minds of locals and governments, and that of the survivors.

Fellow campaigner Ali Hewson says that the book was a timely reminder of the dangers of nuclear activity.

For the past 15 years Chernobyl Children's Project International has delivered over €60m of aid to the devastated region."
